William G. "Spanky" Stevens '68 has been awarded our states highest civilian honor, the Order of the Palmetto, by Gov. Mark Sanford. He received the award at a Rotary Club meeting in Greenwood. His family was present along with several of the bank officers from CapitalBank. Spanky, as we knew him in the '60s, was [and still is] my 'Little Brother'. His acceptance speech was even better than the one he gave to us at High Hampton Inn in 1967. We are all very PROUD!
